Paul first met Chris Curtis in early 2011.
At the time Paul was working with a wound dressing named PolyMem (a dressing which he still loves and will happily bore on about!). PolyMem was being used in radiotherapy departments across the country to treat radiation dermatitis – to you and me, that’s the burns that you can get from your radiotherapy.
Chris and Paul started working together to promote PolyMem to those patients who might otherwise be unaware that there was a solution available for the painful and debilitating skin reactions they were experiencing, and a decade on, they are still working together to improve the patient’s quality of life.
Paul works for THOR Photomedicine Ltd, and for now the focus is on the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis using a treatment called Photobiomodulation (or PBM), for which there is NICE guidance, but they have big plans for the future so watch this space!
If you are looking for Paul and can’t find him at Anfield, you’ll probably find him wherever the nearest heavy metal gig is.
