“Peter is probably best known for entertaining the crowds of Blackpool and the Fylde coast for the last 35 years. Starting adult life on the northern club circuit in the mid 1980’s, Peter has performed on many occasions at the Opera House, Tower Ballroom, and Summer Seasons at the Grand Theatre.
Peter serves as a Councillor on Fylde Borough Council representing the residents of Lytham. However it was in 1992 when he was first elected as a councillor as one of the youngest in the country at the time. He’s also stood for Parliament twice in 2015 and 2017 for the constituency of Blackpool South, coming a very close second on each occasion.
In January 2016 Peter was tasked with turning round the fortunes of the ailing Grade 1 listed building Lytham Hall. After four years the Hall now receives around 130,000 visitors a year, its turnover has multiplied several times, and its conservation programme has progressed immensely.
Outside of work, Peter has been involved in various charities and has raised substantial funds for many local causes.Cancer is something that can affect each and every one of us, whether personally or via family and friends. It is therefore of resounding importance that awareness, research, counselling and vital help is always part of the programme of conquering this terrible disease. This is something the “Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Charity” provides in abundance.
This wonderful team of committed people have in recent years created a professional and exceptionally well run organisation. Without the dedication of this amazing charity and its volunteers, the treatment, advice and one-to-one help would not be as advanced as it is today.
It makes me very proud to champion this charity at every opportunity and promote its aims and objectives.
