Driving Hope, Changing Lives £2,034.50 Raised Before the First Tee!
The Swallows Head & Neck Cancer Support Charity is delighted to announce that an incredible £2,034.50 has already been raised through the Captain’s Drive at Ashford (Kent) Golf Club, even before the main charity golf day takes place later this year.
This remarkable fundraising effort is being led by Gary Miller, a former head and neck cancer patient and this year’s Men’s Captain at the club. Gary has chosen to support The Swallows as his nominated charity, transforming his personal cancer journey into an inspiring opportunity to give back and help others facing similar challenges.
Gary said: “It is wonderful to hear that £2,034.50 has already been raised before the main event has even teed off later in the year. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the generosity and community spirit of everyone involved in the Captain’s Drive.”
The Charity Golf Day will take place on 16 August 2026 and promises to be a wonderful occasion, bringing together family, friends, club members, and the wider golfing community for a memorable day of sport, fundraising, and support for a truly important cause.
Every pound raised will help ensure that patients and caregivers affected by head and neck cancer receive practical support, compassionate guidance, and access to trusted information throughout their journey. Funds will support essential services including our 24/7 Support Line, Support Boxes for newly diagnosed patients, monthly support meetings, digital resources, and national advocacy campaigns.
The charity extends its heartfelt thanks to Gary, the organising team, sponsors, and all participants for their generosity and commitment. Their efforts will make a meaningful and lasting difference to the lives of patients and families facing one of the most challenging experiences imaginable.
